International Women's Day (IWD) is globally celebrated on March 8 this year, focusing on recognizing women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements.

Theme for International Women's Day in 2024
This year's theme,"Investing in Women: Speeding up Progress," was chosen by the UN with the intention of addressing economic weaknesses. "Inspire Inclusion" is the campaign's theme for the same year. This commercial emphasizes the value of diversity and empowerment in all spheres of society. The need of inclusivity in achieving gender equality is also emphasized.
International Women's Day 2024: History and Importance
On February 28, 1909, the United States celebrated the first National Women's Day, followed by a declaration by the Socialist Party of America. To advocate for women's rights and suffrage, Clara Zetkin proposed the establishment of an International Women's Day during the International Conference of Working Women in Copenhagen in 1910. It was unanimously approved, leading to the first International Women's Day being celebrated in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland in 1911. Celebrated on International Women's Day, women's rights and gender equality are highly emphasized. It gives women a platform to advance their rights in a number of domains, such as political, social, economic, and cultural accomplishments.
